Welcome to Urbana Labs!

We are now in our 4th year of breeding Labrador Retrievers. What started out as one litter with our beloved Jenny, has turned into a “hobby” and small business devoted to breeding an excellent, well temperamented dog, and family member.

My wife, our three children, and I enjoy raising our puppies and finding good homes for them. We currently have four Dams (breeding age females), that we alternate, breeding them every other year. Therefore, in all we have a total of only 2 to 3 litters per year. Although our original plan was to breed only chocolate Labrador Retrievers, we have expanded our bloodlines to include all three colors (chocolate, yellow, and black).

This year we have added Molly, a Newfoundland to our breeding. Molly is our family dog, and an excellent specimen for the breed. She has a sweet disposition, an even temperament, and is a devoted companion and family member. Additionally, she possesses a dry-mouth, which is a favorable attribute when considering a large breed dog. To find a good sire for Molly, we returned to Molly's original breeder - Forestviewfarms in Ohio. They provided us with an excellent sire, T.A. Bosco. He is a striking, chocolate, dry-mouth Newfoundland. Together, Molly and Bosco produced a beautiful litter of puppies.

Please feel free to call or e-mail us if you would like to discuss either the Labrador Retrievers, or the Newfoundlands.

Adult Labs & Newfies

At age 5 - 6, I retire my dams. When I do, I will consider placing them up for adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of my retired adult females, please contact me at UrbanaLabs@comcast.net. There is no charge for adoption, but I do place emphasis on the home environment when placing these dogs.
